Animal Trivia

Evan doesn't always cooperate anymore when we try to video him and his cuteness, but this past week we were able to catch him as he played with his animals.

Like I have mentioned before he has really gotten into playing with his animals and setting up his entire farm. It is really cute, he even closes them in the pin, walks the in and out of the gate, and places them in the barn. He is definitely a boy after his Paw Paw's heart. ;)

He wasn't sure at first that he wanted to participate in my quiz since I was interrupting some very important time spent with his tractors, but nonetheless he decided he would play along!

A New Year...A New Blog

Okay, so my new year's resolution is to try to keep this blog up a little bit better. HA! I guess since my last post was in September I have way too much catching up to do, to even start. I'm going to start this new year fresh with just a few fun photos from the last couple of weeks.

Michael and Katy were sweet enough to give us a Flip cam for Christmas, and we have been putting it to good use trying to video our active 18-month-old. I am hoping that we will be able to post some of the funny videos on here for everyone to enjoy!

I decided to share a few photos of Evan doing some of the things that he enjoys the most right now!

Evan definitely has his Daddy's sweet tooth. He LOVED all the treats he got "because it was Christmas."

Evan really likes hats right now. He can find one ANYWHERE, and it is so funny how long he will keep one on his head.

Max is right up there on the list of Evan's top loves. He is crazy about his kitty and Max is such a good sport. Do you know another cat that will let a little boy ride him like a horse?

This 18-month-old little boy will try to climb into and on top of anything he can.

Evan's rent-a-dog! Cooper is his favorite dog in the whole world. He has really started to show Cooper how much he loves him.

COWS!!! and anything that has to do with them. This is Evan helping Paw Paw feed the cows in Hungerford. He now says "Paw Paw feed cow"

Really starting to independent play with a lot of his toys. Cars are right up there among his favs.

This picture epitomizes Evan right now. I don't think there is a better picture that shows how he likes to spend his play time. He will set up his entire farm and play with all of his animals and tractors.

Book Bum

I wanted to give all of you guys an insight into Evan's most favorite thing to do. This kid is crazy for books...lets just hope it lasts!

No, really he has more fun looking at all of his books and is so fun to watch him sit in his chair and "read". When we were getting our floors put in everything was in complete shambles, but Evan didn't waste anytime carrying his books from our bedroom into the living room to sit in front of the fireplace (where his chair normally is) and start looking at his books. He's not much for routine either, is he ;)

Evan the 15 month old is a big fan of animals. He will flip through all his books to get to the animal pages and then proceed to get very excited, point to all the animals and shout out an enthusiastic "dog". Keep in mind that anything that even remotely looks like a dog is a "dog" to Evan right now! He is so convinced of this that he even pointed at Max the other day and said "dog". HA!!

88 Years Young!

Things have been kind of crazy around our house recently. We had new floors put in a few weeks ago and our house was a complete wreck. I don't think we really knew what we were getting ourselves into. Now that they are done we love them, but it has taken a little while to get things back to normal.  I will try to post some photos when I get a chance. It really looks like a different house. Okay, enough about that...

My Mimi turned 88 this past week and we spent the day with her last Saturday. She is amazing; if we could all be lucky enough to look and act as young as she does at her age. It's truly incredible. I think she enjoyed everyone having everyone there to celebrate and Evan loved being the center of attention of course. I thought these photos were too precious not to share.

Our Sweet Angel!

Evan's Aunt Katy and Uncle Michael gave him this outfit for his birthday and we busted it out for church today. I have to admit, he looked like a sweet little angel. Keeping in mind that ten seconds before this photo he did try to bite us, but I couldn't resist sharing this precious face!

Summer Fun!

This summer has proven to truly be fun in more ways than we can count. Evan is learning more and more all the time, and we feel like we are starting to get a true glimpse of our little guy's personality. Each day he surprises us with something new he has picked up. Amazing how those little brains work!

He is signing a few things (more, eat, milk and sometimes please) and a time or two he has even combined all of them to try to get his point across. Evan has always been pretty chatty, but recently his "robot" language has started to have a few recognizable words in there. The ones we've heard: bye bye, ball, Mama, Dada, thank you, PawPaw, nite nite.

These are some photos of some of the fun times we have been having this summer.

I finally like wearing sunglasses. I think I look really cool!

Multipurpose swimming pool = Ball pit

Only way to spend a July afternoon in Houston!

Not happy the train ride came to an end. :(
