It's hard to believe that my sweet boy is 3 years old. Just crazy.
However, I love the age that he is right now. His imagination is incredible, and he continues to surprise me everyday with his awareness and curiosity. He makes us laugh all the time with funny things he says, and 3 year old innocence is hard to beat!
Evan was super excited about his birthday this year and had been talking about his birthday party for weeks. He had been asking for months whose birthday was next. His excitement made planning this birthday one of the most fun for me.
We had his birthday party the weekend before his birthday and Evan couldn't of had more fun. We had a splash party at the house and it worked out perfectly. I think you'll get the idea from the photos.
We decided that the weekend of his birthday (Memorial Day weekend) would be all about him. It was complete with a trip to the zoo, his first "movie night", going to pick strawberries, swimming, cupcakes, making his own pizza, and birthday pancakes! He was one happy boy!!
I hope these pictures help him remember one day what a fun time turning 3 was!!
7 Month Old, Baby Girl
This month really snuck up on me. We have had a lot going on and with Evan's birthday as well, I felt like I blinked a baby girl was already 7 months old.
This was big month for Zoe. She is more and more fun each day and showing us so much more of her personality all the time. She is always smiling and is such a content little girl. She can entertain herself on the floor for quite sometime and has recently started army crawling her way around our living room. Zoe is very motivated by things that are new to her, or something she probably shouldn't be playing with. Evan's toys are always a favorite!
The interaction between Zoe and Evan is the best. The more Evan has realized the reactions that he can get from Zoe the harder he works for them. They are so much fun to watch together and she continues to give him the best laughs. She follows him around the room and watches everything he does. She was talking to us the other night and saying "dada" over and over again and Evan got in front of her face and said, "say, Ev-an, Ev-an." It was really cute.
She was fascinated by the sticker on her shirt when we took these pictures, so what you see is what we got!! Already over half a year old...unbelievable!!!

Our Little Fish
We had been throwing around the idea of Evan' taking swimming lessons this spring for quite sometime. We knew that we wanted to do it, but Houston Swim Club requires that you take a two week "everyday" course before you can cut back to once or twice a week. To be really honest, that sounded terrible.
The evenings are such a tough time for Zoe, and I thought it would just be crazy. In the end, we decided to finally bite the bullet and sign Evan up. I'm so so glad we did! He is such a good little swimmer!
We started off with a bang. No fears, not one fuss, and was participating better than we could have imagined. Last Friday we had a little bump in the road. His teacher took each of the kids down to the bottom to get rings, and lets just say that Evan was too sure he liked that part of swim class. He was very hesitant to go to swimming each day this week, but by Wednesday he was doing much better. Today was his last day of his two week class and I have to say , he did AWESOME!!
I have included a few photos from the first class and some videos from yesterday. It is amazing what they can teach them in just two short weeks. He is so much more comfortable in the water, he can float for a few seconds by himself on his back, he actually went to the bottom to get a ring, and has learned how to safely get himself into and out of the pool!!
He will continue to go once a week for a while, and I can't wait to see what all he learns!!

Story Time
This was a sweet moment that I captured between Evan and Zoe one morning. I tried to grab my camera as quickly as possible. Some of the pictures are even blurry, but I think you can get the idea of just how cute these two can be.
I love the one of Zoe trying to grab onto to Evan and reach for him and he is trying to pretend that he's not bothered. She wants EVERYTHING! Evan typically is fantastic with her and is even willing to share with her at this point. He was very excited to "read" to her, but he wants her to sit still while he does things exactly the way to wants to. I don't think that is going to work out too well for him before long.
Nonetheless, they are too precious together and I love that they love each other so much!

6 Months and Growing
I'm a little late. It has been a crazy week and a half.
I have been meaning to post this for days, but something always seems to get in the way. Our house went on the market a week in a half ago (more on that later) and Zoe has been sick just as long. We have had an ear infection, strep, and wheezing that needed breathing treatments all in about 3 weeks. Yuck!!
That being said, these aren't the best photos of our little lady because quite frankly she just hasn't been in the mood to pose ;)
I truly can not believe that she is 6 months old. Time is going by so fast and she is getting so big. She has such an awareness of what is going on around her and wants to be involved in everything. She is starting to sit up, moving all over the floor by rolling, and has started eating food. I have included a few photos of some of her big milestones this month along with just some fun ones.

Easter Fun
Spring is my most favorite time of the year and Easter weekend is one of the best. For years we have spend Good Friday at my parents house having a crawfish boil, and hanging out with family and friends Maybe it's because I have such fond memories of this weekend as a kid, but I always look forward to it every year.
This year was no different and as Evan gets older it is even more fun to let him enjoy and participate in the Easter festivities. We went to visit the Easter bunny the weekend before and for a child that didn't want to be 100ft from Santa Claus, the Easter bunny was a breeze. I was so proud of him. He walked right up and sat on his lap with Zoe like it was no big deal. I was shocked!!
Evan had a lot of Easter activities, complete with an Easter party at school, dying eggs, and hunting for them twice. He really got into the hunting and had a ton of fun! It was really easy for him this year, being the only one hunting, but I have a feeling Zoe is going to give him a run for his money in no time!

We have way too many photos, but I hope you enjoy!
She LOVES being outside.
Proud of his eggs.
Michael and Katy shared the exciting news that are expecting and due in October. There will be another little munchkin joining us in no time!
This is how we spent our Saturday.
Evan loves the swing set at PawPaw and DeDe's
Zoe checking out her Easter basket.
My loves <3
We were asking Evan to give some of his eggs to Zoe. He wasn't so sure.
This was the final result. He gave her all the eggs with nothing inside, except one. Smart cookie.
Driving his tractor!
Zoe and Mimi.
Zoe sat on my dad's lap like this for an hour. That's an incredibly long time for her.
